The Poetry of Pottery is an auditory journey through childhood trauma, sexual assault and my steps towards healing. Over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, I have found friendship among my poet colleagues in global online open mic communities. Drawing from their support and encouragement, I have wept and screamed through pain as I wrote, painted, read, and performed my work. As a visual artist, I draw on the imagery of ceramics to tell my story. I hope that this body of work may bring identification and healing to those who have suffered trauma. You are not alone. For others, I want to say I hope that you will join us as advocates against physical and sexual violence.
